About Morningside Creations

Morningside Creations was started by Laura Dykkesten in 2007. An
artist her whole life, creating and building whirligigs is currently her
main focus, all while making birdhouses, bird feeders & other quality
items. Her favorite helper Mace assists in all ways possible to help
with her success. Add her two Yellow  Labradors and the picture
basically goes like this: She work at home doing what she loves to
do, making the time to enjoy life together with her Labs and friends in
an incredibly beautiful area to live.

We are based in Clayton, California. It's in the San Francisco Bay
Area, literally surrounded by East Bay Regional Park land. We live in
a beautiful Oak-studded valley next to Morgan Territory Regional
Preserve on the backside of Mount Diablo, a prominent mountain in
this area. Whereas the front of the mountain faces the suburbia of
Walnut Creek, Pleasant Hill, Martinez, and Concord, we are on the
rural backside. It is near here an early settler named Jeramiah
Morgan described this area as "the Morningside of Mount Diablo".
Perhaps because on certain mornings, we have observed the low
clouds illuminated by the Sun in such a way as to cast a special
golden glow all over. Or maybe because it is truly a special place to
be on this Earth. Either way, it is here she creates
Laura, Mace, Benson and Willie posing by our bridge over Marsh Creek
Laura working hard, real hard, on a beautiful mosaic table.
Laura has many skills including mosaic (seen here working two
tables at once), stained glass art, chainsaw carving, woodcrafting and
more!
"I love to create and make useful items for people to enjoy!"
Our Labrador puppy Willie in his I GUARANTEE IT stance. Trust him, we do.
"Hi! I'm Willie! I am one of the two main reasons my Mom & Dad
started Morningside Creations. The other reason is my brother Benson.
Together, as a team, we will make sure our parents deliver to all
customers lucky enough to deal with them. I guarantee it, or my name
isn't Willie, one of the two luckiest dogs ever!
